New “Dual” actuator driving simultaneously 2 clusters pointers

Latest in the range of Actuators for Instrument Clusters (AFIC), the new born SONCEBOZ “Dual” (6407 series) allows moving two automotive instrument cluster’s pointers in one single housing.

The two concentric movements are simultaneous but remain absolutely independent. Smoothness guarantees a great precision of indication and reliability in driver’s information. Benefiting from the MM39 patented technology as heart of the stepper motor, “Dual” integrates a gear train which grants a performing resolution. This new slimline stepper motor dedicated to automotive applications tends to 0 ppm with a high level end-user quality. Rear mount on PCB can be achieved with plastic rivets or screws.
Its low weight (11 grams) and low thickness (13.1mm) allow “Dual” to meet current automotive requirements of security and comfort:

  • Lower weight of components,
  • Lower rate of noise,
  • Better integration in a narrow environment.

This technological innovation gives finally the ability to condense the amount of information on an instrument cluster, and grants more design freedom.
