New torque motor with failsafe function

The new torque motor 4276 Series of SONCEBOZ is a brushless rotary actuator dedicated to the engine controls of passenger cars and commercial vehicles. Featuring an instantaneous torque 50% higher than the last generation, this motor presents a high motion speed (100 ms positioning time). It allows to drive modern engine controls systems and to fulfill environmental standards.

Designed to operate as a direct drive actuator with no gears, the reduced number of moving parts guarantees an excellent reliability and a high service life. The integration of a spring for the return-to-default function enhances the compactness and security values of this motor. Its high torque grants a powerful boost capability necessary in Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valves.

The integration of a non-contact analog magnetic position sensor converts this torque motor into a contactless closed-loop system. Furthermore, integrating electronic controls into the same housing turns this servo-actuator into a ‘smart' stand-alone device compatible with state-of-the-art bus communication standards. This new motor can also be used without position sensor as an ON-OFF actuator with minimum energy consumption.
